Grievance Process
The grievance process is about protecting your rights under the contract, ensuring that violations of the contract are prevented, and to help employees whose rights under the contract have been violated obtain a remedy.
If you feel that a contract violation has occurred as it relates to you or your worksite, please contact my_union@live.com.
AFSCME Advantage
Did you know that being a AFSCME union member means you can get extra benefits and discounts?
You can find everything from discounted movie tickets and flowers to home, auto, and pet insurance at https://www.afscme.org/member-resources/afscme-advantage.
Weingarten Rights
An employee may be represented by the union at an investigatory interview with their employer when the employee reasonably believes that the interview may lead to disciplinary action.
"If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated I respectfully request that my steward be present at the meeting. Without representation present, I choose not to respond to any questions or statements."

Immigration Resources
If you have questions about what to do if Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) interacts with you at work and/or at City facilities, contact the City's Legal Department right away and abide by the City's guidance for interactions with ICE agents. Below are some resources that the union has collected with information about your rights when interacting with ICE agents and other information that may be helpful in navigating interactions with ICE.
